Statistical Education – Visit to the Integrated Educational Facilities in Kowala

On 21 May 2026, we visited the Integrated Educational Facilities in Kowala. The aim of the meeting was to introduce students to the role of statistics in everyday life and show them how to analyse and interpret the data around us.

The programme was tailored to the participants’ age. Younger students took part in games, quizzes and logic activities that introduced them to basic concepts related to data. Older students discussed the practical use of statistics in decision-making and planning. The meeting provided an opportunity to develop analytical thinking skills among young people and demonstrate that statistics is a practical tool for understanding the modern world.

Supporting the Development of Future Planners

On 14 April 2026, as part of our cooperation with Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce, we conducted a session for geography students.

The meeting covered three areas:

  • changes to the Polish Classification of Activities (PKD 2025),
  • demographic challenges facing the Świętokrzyskie region,
  • practical use of statistical resources in socio-geographical analyses (BDL, SVS, SMUP, Strateg).

Students emphasised that the knowledge and skills they gained would be valuable both in their further education and in everyday life.

Statistics in the Land of Dinosaurs: We Visited a School in Bałtów

On 24 March 2026, the team from the Świętokrzyskie Regional Research Centre visited the Primary School in Bałtów. In this unique “land of prehistory”, we conducted classes for nearly 200 students from Grades 1–8.

Our workshops proved that numbers are not just tables, but above all, great fun. The youngest students explored the world of data through games and physical activities. Older students learned how to create and interpret charts while developing their logical thinking skills. The students’ enthusiasm showed that statistics in everyday life can be fascinating. We are delighted that the educational map of our region has gained another group of young ambassadors of statistics.

The Statistical Office in Kielce Celebrated Pi Day with Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce

On 13 March 2026, we took part in the 16th Pi Day celebrations organised by the Department of Mathematics at Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce and the “Rozmaitości” Student Scientific Association.

This annual event, held on a symbolic date, brings together the world of science and the practical application of knowledge in everyday communication. A highlight of the programme was a presentation by Dominik Górski from the Świętokrzyskie Regional Research Centre, who delivered a lecture entitled “Communication with Pi Accuracy: Informing Without Errors or Manipulation”. The event was attended by secondary school students, teachers and all science enthusiasts. The high turnout clearly demonstrated the need for such initiatives and their value as a platform for developing cooperation between organisations.
