Tasks of the Office
The Statistical Office in Kielce belongs to the official statistics services subordinated to Statistics Poland and operates on the basis of:
- the Act of 29 June 1995 on Official Statistics (Journal of Laws 2026, item 851),
- the Act of 21 November 2008 on the Civil Service (Journal of Laws 2026, item 590),
- the Statute introduced by Order No. 6 of the President of Statistics Poland of 21 March 2012 (Official Journal of Statistics Poland, item 16, as amended),
- the Organisational Regulations of the Statistical Office in Kielce introduced by Internal Order No. 1 of the Director of the Statistical Office in Kielce of 19 January 2026.
The detailed scope of tasks of the Office includes:
- collecting, gathering, processing and analysing statistical data;
- carrying out work resulting from the Programme of Statistical Surveys of Official Statistics and the methodological work plan;
- conducting and carrying out population censuses and other surveys with a wide scope of observation in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodship;
- participating in work on the methodology of statistical surveys concerning the Świętokrzyskie Voivodship;
- identifying the demand for statistical information and analyses in territorial breakdowns within the Świętokrzyskie Voivodship, as well as designing methods and forms for meeting these needs;
- making available and disseminating statistical information concerning the Świętokrzyskie Voivodship, including information containing comparisons with other regions;
- conducting regional studies and analyses significant from the point of view of the specificity of the Voivodship, including in cooperation with scientific and research institutions;
- providing information support to local government units and advisory and expert units of local government through the preparation of analyses concerning the Świętokrzyskie Voivodship;
- carrying out work in the field of popularisation and promotion of statistics and dissemination of knowledge about statistics, including conducting statistical education within the Świętokrzyskie Voivodship;
- participating in work for the purposes of regional statistics publications;
- presenting statistical information concerning the Świętokrzyskie Voivodship to government administration bodies, bodies of local government units and other recipients;
- maintaining the National Official Business Register (REGON) with regard to legal persons, organisational units without legal personality and natural persons conducting business activity, as well as providing access to data from the REGON register;
- maintaining and providing access to data from the National Official Register of the Territorial Division of the Country (TERYT) within the Świętokrzyskie Voivodship in the part covering the system of statistical regions and census enumeration areas as well as the address identification system of streets, real estate, buildings and dwellings (together with the street catalogue);
- maintaining spatial address databases within the Świętokrzyskie Voivodship for the purposes of creating spatial frames in the specialised GIS software used, based on data from the National Official Register of the Territorial Division of the Country (TERYT) and other statistical registers;
- cooperating with government administration bodies and local government authorities in the Voivodship maintaining official registers and public administration information systems with regard to providing source information for updating the maintained registers and survey frames;
- conducting surveys concerning the Świętokrzyskie Voivodship jointly with government administration or local government authorities, included at their request in the Programme of Statistical Surveys of Official Statistics;
- administering the IT infrastructure of the official statistics services located within the Świętokrzyskie Voivodship.
